“A Celebration of Heritage, Identity, and Unity”
LAPASAN, Cagayan de Oro City – Barangay Lapasan, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Julito D. Ogsimer, is proud to announce the upcoming Aligokoy Festival 2025, a more than week-long celebration that will run from Aug. 6-Aug.16, 2025 , honoring the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and unity of the Lapasanon people.
This year’s theme, “Katawhan Duyug sa Bag-ong Lapasan,” embodies the spirit of collective growth and cultural pride, with a special focus on the identity of the Lumad Lapasan-on and the vibrant diversity of all residents of the barangay.
“The Aligokoy Festival is more than just a celebration—it is a declaration of who we are as a people,” said Punong Barangay Julito D. Ogsimer. “We invite everyone to join us in this colorful week of culture, unity, and shared progress as we showcase the traditions that shaped Lapasan and the vibrant future we are building together.”
Festival Highlights Include:
- 🎆 Opening Salvo – A festive kickoff event featuring traditional music, dances, and a symbolic tribute to the barangay’s origins.
- 🕊️ Interfaith Night – Promoting peace and harmony among all religious denominations in the community.
- 📰 Press Conference – Media briefing on the week’s events, guest appearances, and objectives of the celebration.
- 🎓 Alumni Night – A special gathering of Lapasan alumni to celebrate memories, achievements, and community spirit.
- 🥁 Civic Parade – A colorful procession of schools, organizations, and cultural groups in full regalia and floats.
- 👑 Miss Lapasan 2025 – A search for the empowered and culturally proud young woman who will represent the modern Lapasan-on.
- 🎭 Cultural Night – A showcase of indigenous dances, traditional music, and storytelling featuring Lumad artistry and identity.
- 🎉 Katiguman Night – A festive community fellowship celebrating unity, food, music, and shared aspirations.
- 💃 Zumba Festival – A health and wellness event encouraging fitness, fun, and community participation.
- 🎣 Bingwit Contest – A friendly fishing competition reconnecting the community to its coastal heritage.
Additional accredited side activities and booths will also be featured, offering food, local crafts, and interactive programs for all ages.

The Aligokoy Festival is one of the flagship cultural events in Eastern Cagayan de Oro and is supported by various civic organizations, alumni groups, youth councils, and partner agencies. It continues to grow each year as a symbol of Lapasan’s unique blend of indigenous roots, urban progress, and community resilience.
