PRIVATE firm Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) on Wednesday revealed its expansion projects for the Laguindingan International Airport (LIA) in Misamis Oriental province.
Speaking to reporters, Christine Villanueva, AIC’s Airports Strategy and Communications head, said the LIA’s expansion includes widening roads and extending buildings to accommodate more passengers and visitors.
She said the proposed expansions will be similar to how AIC transformed the design and operational efficiency of Mactan International Airport in Cebu.
“This plan will not only benefit Northern Mindanao but the whole of Mindanao. Since we aim for a world-class passenger experience, more changes are expected to happen,” Villanueva said.
Franz Jonathan de la Fuente, AIC Corporate Communications and Branding Manager, said the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is in close coordination with these plans, though a master plan is still in development.
AIC officially took over the operations of LIA on April 26, overseeing the development and modernization of the airport under a 30-year concession agreement.
The company has committed a PHP12.75 billion investment to upgrade facilities and services. (PNA)PRIVATE firm Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) on Wednesday revealed its expansion projects for the Laguindingan International Airport (LIA) in Misamis Oriental province.
