A high-value target was arrested in a joint buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 10) Regional Special Enforcement Team, along with the Philippine National Police (PNP) RIU 10, and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Station 10.
The operation took place at Zone 1, Barangay FS Catanico, Cagayan de Oro City, today, September 9, 2025, at around 11:50 AM. During this operation, operatives seized seven (7) rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets suspected to contain shabu, weighing approximately 3 grams, with an estimated standard drug value of PHP 20,400.00, along with the buy-bust money.
PDEA Regional Director Alex M. Tablate identified the arrested individual as a government employee known by the alias “Dante,” a 43-year-old married male residing in Zone 1, FS Catanico, Cagayan de Oro City. The individual in question is a permanent employee at the City Tourism & Cultural Affairs Office in Cagayan de Oro.
Charges will be pressed against the suspect under Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA 10
