City Councilor Gigi Go, Chairperson of the Labor and Employment Committee, represented Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy at the World Café of Opportunities 2025 Job Fair. Her presence underscored the City Government’s strong commitment to empowering individuals and supporting businesses by fostering greater access to employment opportunities.

Councilor Go expressed her appreciation to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Cagayan de Oro for their invaluable partnership in making this endeavor possible. Through collaboration, every person can find pathways to meaningful work, and every enterprise can thrive, ensuring opportunities to earn and succeed are within reach for all.

Similar job fairs have been successful in other locations, such as Abra, where over 5,000 job vacancies were offered, resulting in 49 job seekers being hired on the spot. The TESDA World Café of Opportunities in Davao Occidental also provided 130 job vacancies for technical-vocational graduates and job seekers.

The World Café of Opportunities job fair provides a platform for job seekers to connect with potential employers, offering services such as resume-building workshops, job-matching algorithms, and instant interview scheduling. This event aims to bridge the gap between skilled workers and industries, promoting employment and livelihood opportunities.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other government agencies support these initiatives, recognizing the importance of employment and skills development in driving economic growth and social progress. By working together, the government and private sector can create more opportunities for individuals to succeed and contribute to the country’s development
