MISAMIS Oriental Vice Governor Jigjag Pelaez expressed his appreciation for the recent report of the Department of Economy Planning and Development (DepDev) as released to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) highlighting the province’s low poverty rate.
According to Pelaez, this significant achievement reflects the efforts and programs of the previous administration, which worked hard to uplift the lives of Misamisnons and provide opportunities for sustainable growth. He emphasized that reducing poverty remains a crucial step toward inclusive development and long-term progress in the province.
The Vice Governor also expressed hope that the current administration will not only sustain these gains but further enhance and strengthen programs aimed at improving the quality of life for the people of Misamis Oriental.
“This report is a testament to the hardwork which Attains growth due to team work of legislative and executive of the former administion under the leadership of former Governor Peter M. Unabia and consultation of the national agencies. But more importantly, it serves as an inspiration for us today to build upon these achievements and ensure that more Misamisnons will benefit from our development efforts,” Pelaez stated.
He underscored that the challenge now is to expand these positive outcomes by addressing remaining socio-economic gaps, investing in livelihood and education, and ensuring inclusive growth for all municipalities in the province.
With the collaboration of local leaders, national agencies, and the private sector, Pelaez is optimistic that Misamis Oriental will continue on its path of development—creating a stronger, more resilient community for future generations.
