SM CDO Malls joined the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), a quarterly National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)-led activity to educate the public on disaster preparedness against earthquakes, today, November 9, 2023.
During the simulations, member employees of the Emergency Response Group and the malls’ security group guided employees, tenants, agency personnel, and shoppers to the assembly area outside the SM malls, where medical personnel were also on standby.
SM malls in Cagayan de Oro went on a complete information drive to raise awareness about the drill. An Emergency Response Group was activated to ensure smooth implementation.
The importance of disaster preparedness is vital across SM’s operations, from its management to the employees and mall front liners.
