The SM City CDO Uptown recently conducted a PWD Briefing to update their frontline officers on the proper handling of customers with disability. Notably, SM CDO Malls welcome patrons and visitors from all walks of life, and with this is a vision to always extended a magical experience to everyone, special to the PWD communities.
It has been SM’s great pleasure to welcome PWD customers, SM Supermalls is equipped to lend a helping hand to everyone and handle their needs with care.
January 17, 2023, SM City CDO Uptown, conducted a briefing to educate their frontline officers on how to take care of customers with disability. The briefing was conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development with Ms. Maria Liza G. Corpuz, Person with Disability Affairs Officer, together with her partners who advocate in the service for this sector.
Ms. Lorely Sabal, shared her experience with SM CDO DOWNTOWN Premier when one of her PWD Children was assisted by the mall administration. She said one time her child got lost during their shopping in the mall. But luckily her child was found by security personnel and was accommodated at the mall admin office. She was very grateful for the SM Mall’s assistance then she said “Who cares? SM Cares!”. She pointed out the contribution of SM in their continued support to extend quality services and projects that gives importance to the needs of the PWD Sector.
Mr. Rolando Damaolao of the CDO Council of PWD shared the basic information on the use of a cane for blind customers and treat it with respect. He shared that it is the extension of their vision for them to walk with minimal assistance.
Ms. Corpus also expressed her gratitude to SM City CDO
Uptown for hiring some personnel from the sector who
also joined the briefing together with all his colleagues.
She said that it is only SM Mall that initiates a program
for the PWD Sector and with that, she is very thankful.
Finally, SM CDO Malls are ready to welcome shoppers
from the PWD Sectors. With passion to improve
customer services, SM is confident that their shopping
