Seal of Good Governance qualifiers in R10 surge

PROMOTING good governance through the Seal of Good Local Governance, DILG-10 has seen a 9% increase in SGLG qualifiers, with 35 LGUs in northern Mindanao receiving the coveted seal, said DILG-10 Regional Director Wilhelm Suyko during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 30.

The region recognized a total of 15 barangays for their outstanding public service.

Also, DILG-10 has conducted six cycles of Dagyaw, trained 85 CSO Desk Officers, and conducted the Philippine Open Government Partnership.

It also facilitated financial assistance for 330 former rebels.

In another development, Suyko said during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 30 that 16 northern Mindanao LGUs were awarded with the National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Awards for their exemplary performance in the campaign.

The department has also managed 527 projects from FY 2022-2024, with 372 successfully completed.

A total of 24 LGUs were recognized for their exemplary feats, commendable performance, and compliance under the SubayBAYAN portal during the 2023 SubayBAYANi regional awarding ceremony.

There were also 54 LGUs in the region conferred with the prestigious Child Friendly Local Governance Audit Award.

Meanwhile, DILG-10 has received the GAD Seal for CY 2023, recognizing its commitment to the Magna Carta of Women and other initiatives.

They also launched a GAD corner, a breastfeeding station, and a child-minding center to promote inclusivity and gender mainstreaming.

In terms of disaster response, DILG-10 trained 26 Normin LGUs on early warning systems, disaster preparedness initiatives, and suggested response actions.

There were 44 LGUs trained in climate and disaster risk assessment, as well as enhanced local climate change action plan formulation.

Lastly, Suyko said they provided technical assistance to 43 LGUs with the Local Investment and Incentives Code, 32 with making a workforce development plan, 65 with making fees and charges more reasonable, 59 with getting rid of policies, 45 with reengineering systems and procedures, and 69 with integrating barangay clearance.

The department also processed 201 BODBA requests, issued 129 Department Authority to Purchase Vehicles, issued 703 certificates for Foreign Travel Authority, and issued 860 certificates of the Incumbency of Local Officials.
