PAUL Rodriguez received the endorsement of the influential Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for his bid for the lone district of Camiguin. With less than 10 days remaining before election day, sources said the INC has thrown its support behind Rodriguez and Kaayuhan Team.
Rodriguez is challenging incumbent re-electionist Cong. JJ Romualdo a member of the Romualdo clan that has held power in the province for 38 years.
A neophyte in politics, Rodriguez is a native of Camiguin with his family having deep roots in province for more than 100 years. The Rodriguez family is known for their assistance to the vulnerable members of the community.
The Kaayuhan Team led by Paul Rodriguez is campaigning on a platform of reforms and inclusive growth.
With the strong support of the INC, observers note that the political landscape of Camiguin is about to change.
