In a significant operation, authorities in Cagayan de Oro City successfully confiscated P215,520 worth of smuggled cigarettes near Cogon Public Market on August 20, 2025.
The operation was carried out by personnel from Police Station 2 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, together with the City Intelligence Unit, during an information drive in the area.
The authorities caught sight of an open display of assorted smuggled cigarettes being sold in the area and immediately verified the products. Upon confirmation that the items were indeed smuggled, they were seized on the spot.
The confiscated items include four master cases of assorted brands, 64 reams of assorted brands, and 54 packs of smuggled cigarettes.
