CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Personnel from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, in coordination with the Sultan Naga Dimaporo Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 – 1005th Company, and the Maritime Police Station, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte, recovered smuggled cigarettes along the national highway in Purok 1, Barangay Kalibao, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte, on the morning of October 20, 2025.
The operation was carried out after the 2nd PMFC received a report from a concerned citizen regarding illegal activities in the area, particularly a pile of suspected smuggled goods. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the joint team immediately proceeded to the location to verify the information.
Upon arrival, the team discovered several boxes abandoned along the roadside. Further inspection revealed forty-three master cases of Astro Red cigarettes, with an estimated market value of PhP1,720,000.00, based on the assessment of the Bureau of Customs.
All recovered items were turned over to the 2nd PMFC Headquarters for documentation and proper disposition in coordination with relevant authorities.
PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N ABRAHANO, Acting Regional Director, PRO10commended the vigilance of the community and the swift coordination of the operating units.
“This accomplishment underscores the importance of strong community support in our law enforcement efforts. When citizens work hand in hand with the police, we create a safer and more secure environment for everyone.,” he said.
