BARANGAY Nazareth in Cagayan de Oro City held its first barangay assembly for this year last March 7 at their gymnasium.
During the activity, punong barangay Atty. Regine Rodriguez revealed that the budget for this year has doubled based on the national tax allocation.
Rodriguez cited the growing population, land and overall progressiveness of Nazareth as factors and basis for the national tax allocation.
It was learned that Nazareth now has a budget of P18 million or twice that of 2025 which was only P9 million.
Rodriguez is also grateful to Cagayan de Oro City second district Rep. Rufus Rodriguez for funding the construction of roads in upper Nazareth.
She said this is one of the major accomplishments of her administration hte last year.
Aside from that, the barangay council was also able to purchase a garbage truck and a rescue vehicle.
Rodriguez said that the increased budget this year will be distributed across all the needed services for the constituents.
As per mandate from DILG, barangay assemblies are held twice a year.
