More teachers secure career growth in Misamis Occidental

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – 23 Provincial Paid Teachers in Misamis Occidental were greeted with the news of their regularization by Governor Henry Oaminal Sr., in line with the local government unit’s objective of improving the career progression of its educators.

The teachers were personally addressed by the governor in a meeting, where he shared his admiration for their dedication to the job. “I hope you continue to focus on shaping our youth, as we focus on helping you accomplish great results,” said Oaminal.

He assured the teachers that, through their collective effort, the provincial administration secured positions to regularize them all. Currently, 23 positions are available, but he promised that those not yet regularized will be included soon.

The teachers in turn expressed their gratitude for the development, and for the local government unit’s various initiatives that continue to help teachers and the education sector.

This includes the province’s improved road infrastructure helping educators reach remote areas easier, and free hospital treatment in Misamis Occidental. Teacher Marjorie Ann Caramba, who has been working at Maikay Integrated School in Tudela for over three years, shared her joy over the opportunity. “Thank you very much, Governor, for being an answer to our prayers,” said Caramba.

“After such a long ranking process, it was the Governor himself who informed us that we will be regularized.”  “I feel truly grateful because this would be a huge help to my family. It’s motivating for us, encouraging us to continue being a positive influence to the youth and inspiring them to achieve their dreams,” she continued.

Oaminal encouraged the teachers to continue striving towards the goal of the administration’s 5Ms development thrust (meaning Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon, or Misamisnon Live Peacefully, Prosperously, and Happily) and to set a high standard in their profession.

“I urge you to do your best towards our 5Ms goal and set a strong example as teachers. Your work is crucial in preparing the future of our country. I am glad to see your dedication and look forward to your continued positive impact on each DepEd (Department of Education) school in our province,” the governor said. Oaminal further extended the provincial administration’s help by offering assistance to fast-track the teacher’s designation to regular status. ###
