MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – No less than Governor Henry Oaminal of this province was the guest speaker during the Human Rights Stakeholders Forum.”
In his inspirational message, Governor Oaminal reminded everyone regarding the human rights of every human person.
He said the rights of every person must be respected by everyone, so as to maintain respect for one another.
A lecture on PNP and Human Rights was also delivered by PBGen Jerico O Baldeo to the participants of the forum.
He said it is mandated to the members of the PNP to uphold the human rights of the people, whether prisoners or those arrested for wrong doings.
Baldeo said even offenders and those who committed crimes have their human rights, so PNP must uphold those human right privileges they can avail, like waiting for their own lawyer before they answer questions and interrogations.
Director Pablo Benitez, Jr of DILG-MisOcc also lectured on Executive Order 70 – Institutionalizing the Whole Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task and Adoption of a National Peace Framework. ###
