The provincial government of Misamis Oriental, under the leadership of Gov. Juliette Uy, is intensifying collaboration with city and municipal mayors to drive meaningful progress in the province. This focus was highlighted during the 2nd Semester Provincial Development Council Meeting held at the Provincial Capitol’s Unity Hall on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
“Naa alang sa tao ang pag-serbisyo, dili sa pulitiko. Ang akong kadaogan naa sa katawhan” (“Service is for the people, not politics. My victory lies with the people”), Gov. Uy stated, urging leaders to prioritize critical projects addressing the province’s needs.

Key areas of focus include infrastructure like roads, water systems, solar street lights, and other initiatives aligned with the leaders’ approved projects. The governor acknowledged the province’s abundant resources that can be harnessed for effective and accelerated development through cooperation with officials and stakeholders.

The council agreed on sharing gravel resources with Local Government Units (LGUs) and barangays from the provincial government, alongside equipment support to facilitate their projects.

The meeting highlighted approval of a Php 7,261,968,189.66 Annual Investment Plan for Fiscal Year 2026 and a Php 149 million Supplemental Investment Program for FY 2025.
Gov. Uy presided over the meeting alongside Board Members Princess Emano and Jabi Bernaldez, Provincial Administrator Ruel Gayoso, and Provincial Planning and Development Officer Archimedes Lazaro. Congressional representatives, City and Municipal Planning Development Officers, Civil Society organizations, cooperatives, and Capitol department heads also attended.

Mayors and participants responded positively, reaffirming their dedication to advancing various projects for Misamis Oriental’s benefit.
