In a significant step towards modernizing public transportation in Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao Daily Express Transport Cooperative (Mindex) has partnered with e-Future Motors PH, Inc. to launch 50 units of electric vehicles. This initiative supports the country’s Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).

The joint venture contract agreement was signed on March 7, 2025, at Xavier Estates Clubhouse in Uptown, Cagayan de Oro. Mindex Chairman of the Board Dante Sudaria and e-Future Motors PH, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Bongkyun Shin led the signing ceremony, accompanied by Mindex Board Secretary Ruffy Magbanua and e-Future Chief Executive Officer Huizi Jiang of e-Future China.

These e-jeepneys are eco-friendly, equipped with modern features such as CCTV systems, air conditioning, GPS, and automatic fare collection systems. They will ply 11 routes within Cagayan de Oro City, as approved under the local public transport route plan.
This development marks a significant milestone in the city’s transportation landscape, offering commuters a safer, more comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel experience.
