Transport leaders from over 60 cooperatives in Mindanao are set to converge in Cagayan de Oro on March 7 for the 1st Mindanao Transport Summit. The event, themed “Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Modernization in Mindanao’s Transport Sector,” will be held at the Xavier Estate Clubhouse in Uptown.
Orlando Marquez, national president of the Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators ng Pilipinas (LTOP), emphasized that the summit is supported by the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). LTOP champions sustainable public transportation, prioritizing safe and environmentally friendly mobility.

LTFRB Region 10 Director Abosamen Matuan announced that LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz and CDA Assistant Secretary Myrla Paradillo will attend the summit. Matuan anticipates active participation from stakeholders to forge partnerships for modernizing the country’s public transport system.
The summit’s significance is underscored by the presence of top officials, according to Matuan. This event follows recent infrastructure development initiatives in Mindanao, including the 1st Mindanao Infrastructure Summit organized by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) ¹.
