MCLG prexy joins government agencies in celebrating ‘World Hijab Day’

BARMM Council of Leaders and President of Mindanao Center for Local Governance Inc. Bae sa Macadar Hadja Nabiha “Noni” Lao has joined with government agencies and other Non-Governmental Organizations in celebrating the World Hijab, every 1st day of February 2024 with a theme: Better Awareness, Greater Understanding, Peaceful World.

Lao emphasizes in her speech “lets celebrate the occasion with unity, strength, and the beauty of choice. Wear your hijab proudly share, share your stories, and empower one another. Together, we stand, also “Embrace Diversity, and Empower Women.”

World Hijab Day was created to promote personal freedom of religious expression and improve cultural understanding.

(MCLG) headed by President Lao in celebrating the World Hijab Day.

It was learned that after celebrating the World Hijab Day Madame Commissioner Alonto presided a meeting with the Officers and Members of PMWC held at IPDM Convergence Hall, MSU Marawi main campus. Some vital issues were discussed by the group like conduct seminar-workshop, conference educating the Muslim women the vital and significance use of hijab.

In BARMM, MP Diamila Disimban-Ramos also said, the hijab, a symbol so deeply woven into our identity, stands not only for our devotion to Allah (SWT) but also as an emblem of our rich heritage. It narrates the tales of our ancestors,

echoes the voices of guidance of our mothers and carries the dreams of our daughters into the future.

She added, it is a crown of modesty, a clock of dignity. and a statement of strength that resonates with heartbeat of every woman who chooses to wear and embrace it.
