ALMOST 300 elementary graders from five schools in Cagayan de Oro City received reading glasses courtesy of Lions Club International District 301-E.
According to Lions Club International District 301-E global service team coordinator Atty. Mart Maandig, the learners underwent prior screening before the outreach March 14 at South City Central School.

“Eyesight deficiency is the leading cause of reading inability. It is in our hope that next year through our efforts, there will be less reading deficiencies in our city,” Maandig said.
Of the 291 learners, 91 come from East City Central School, 64 from Iponan Elementary School, 52 from Camaman-an Elementary School, 48 from South City Central School, 24 from Pagatpat Elementary School and 12 from Mambuaya Elementary School.

The outreach’s main benefactor is Johnson & Johnson.
“Kaugmaon among gihatag, labaw pa sa ayuda,” Maandig said.
