TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)–Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza, along with officials of the provincial government, visited Misamis Occidental, January 11, to give cash assistance to seven municipalities affected by the heavy flooding caused by the shear line during the holiday season.
These municipalities are Oroquieta City, Lopez Jaena, Aloran, Sinacaban, Tudela, Clarin, and Jimenez.
Misamis Occidental Gov. Henry Oaminal, along with the mayors of the municipalities, expressed their sincerest thanks to the Lanao del Norte Governor and now Regional Development Council (RDC)-10 Chairperson.
“We are so sorry about what happened in your municipalities. I know how traumatic it is for your constituents to experience such wrath from nature. This is the result of climate change and it is the act of mankind,” the governor said.
The RDC Chairperson also said that it is her moral duty to be of service to her neighboring province during this time of adversity. She also hoped that with the small amount, the cash assistance would help those residents who were greatly affected.
The cash assistance was funded under the 5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund of the provincial government. (PIO-LDN/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
