Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy has been elected as the chairperson of the Macajalar Bay Development Alliance (MBDA) Council, a coalition of 14 Local Government Units (LGUs) from Laguindingan to Kinoguitan. The election took place during the 1st MBDA Council Meeting held on August 27, 2025.
As chairperson, Gov. Uy will lead the MBDA Council in its efforts to protect, conserve, and preserve the coastal and marine resources of Macajalar Bay. The council aims to promote sustainable development and environmental protection in the province through collective action and cooperation among its member LGUs.

Laguindingan Mayor Atty. Roy Macua was elected as the vice chairperson, while the Provincial Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (PLENRO) was designated as the treasurer. Kimberly Augusto was appointed as the program manager.
The MBDA Council has formed clusters to facilitate coordination and implementation of projects. The clusters will work together to address the unique needs and challenges of each area and promote more effective collaboration among council members.
Gov. Uy’s leadership in the MBDA Council is expected to drive significant progress in preserving the natural beauty and resources of Macajalar Bay, ultimately benefiting the environment and the communities in the province.
