DTI Accreditation Processing for Service and Repair Enterprises (SREs) goes online

Advancing its journey to go digital, the Department of Trade and Industry – Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) launched the Accreditation for Service and Repair Enterprises (SREs) Online Processing through the Integrated Registration Information System (iRegIS); and gave a first look at its upcoming website on Wednesday, 08 June 2022 via Zoom video conferencing.

Online processing of accreditation through the IRegIS is now open and available for business enterprises in the National Capital Region (NCR), engaged directly or indirectly, in the repair, service, or maintenance of motor vehicles, heavy equipment, engine, and engineering works; electronics, electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration; office machines and data processing equipment; medical and dental equipment, and other consumer mechanical and industrial equipment, alliances or devices, including the technical personnel employed therein. It offers a more speedy, transparent, effective, and efficient end-to-end processing.

Moreover, it increases consumer confidence by ensuring that enterprises and their personnel have the necessary tools, equipment, facilities, and expertise to provide quality service as stated in Presidential Decree No. 1572 as amended by Article 128 of the Republic Act (RA) 7394.

Such migration to online processing, is in line with the Ease of Doing Business and Government Service Act of 2018 – which streamlines frontline procedures to reduce the processing time of government permits and licenses – FTEB launched the iRegIS in 2020 to facilitate the automation of the Bureau’s frontline services such as securing business certificates, accreditation, and permits. The iRegis, spearheaded by the Information System Management Services (ISMS), provides convenience and comfort through the use of two other online portals: DTI-NegosyoKonek and DTIPay.

“The DTI will continue to strive for process digitalization and system automation in fulfillment of the country’s goal of a globally competitive and innovative industry and services sector,” said Management Services Group (MSG) Undersecretary Ireneo V. Vizmonte.

Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Assistant Secretary and FTEB Concurrent Director Ronnel O. Abrenica, and CPG Assistant Secretary Ann Claire C. Cabochan expressed their appreciation for another breakthrough in DTI’s digital transformation and pledged support for what is ahead.

Other than the online processing of SREs accreditation, FTEB gave a first look at its upcoming website that will provide a single domain for all the services of the its eight (8) divisions.

Prior, FTEB has successfully implemented three systems through iRegIS:

•     Issuance of Sales Promotion Permit by the Sales Promotion Division (SPD);

•     Issuance of Certificate of Authority to Import (CAI) by the Import Regulation Division (IRD); and

•     Accreditation of Sea Freight Forwarders (SFFs) by the Business Licensing and Accreditation Division (BLAD).
