ILIGAN CITY, June 9 – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) particularly its Lanao del Norte 1st District Engineering Office recently turned-over the newly completed multi-purpose building to the school administration of Ditucalan National High School, this city.
In a simple turn-over ceremony, DPWH District Engineer Alykhan Ali handed over the key of responsibility to School Principal Bernie Lubguban.
“We are thankful to DPWH and Congressman Siao for this infrastructure project. Finally, we now have a spacious activity center that we can use for our future school activities and as a recreational space for the students” expressed Principal Lubguban.
The multi-purpose building was constructed by Matroson Builders and Engineering Services for the contract amount of P2.8-million.
“We are excited to see the students use this new facility. As soon as DepED permits, we can have group activities and sports contests here. We are truly thankful”, Faculty President Michaeline Chan said.
Also present during the turn-over rites were Ditucalan Punong Barangay Jasmin Pates and several barangay council members.
“With this new school facility, we hope that the students will have a more holistic education since not all lessons can be learned inside the four walls of the classroom”, expressed District Engineer Ali.
The ribbon-cutting rites was also attended by the faculty and staff of Ditucalan National High School, DPWH personnel, and staff from the lone congressional district of Iligan City. (VNL/DPWH-PIO)
