DOLE-LDN to aid more pandemic-hit workers under CAMP 3

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–Cash aid is again available for another batch of workers in Iligan City and Lanao del Norte who were displaced by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis.

Lawyer Safrali Cabili, OIC Provincial Head of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Lanao del Norte, said during the Friday’s episode of Talakayan sa PIA,

that they will provide one-time financial assistance of P5,000 to workers in the formal sector affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and declaration of Alert Level 3.

This is under the third tranche of DOLE’s safety net program called COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).

To qualify, the affected private establishment must have reported the closure to the DOLE Establishment Reporting System.

Applications with the latest payroll covering November or December 2021 onwards are accepted online through https://reports.dole.gov.ph

In the absence of the payroll, establishments may submit any of the following documents: proof of payments of wages via logbook or ledger; employment status, cash voucher or petty cash voucher, authority to debit account sent by the employer to the bank for wages of the employees, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG Alphalist of remittances or the list of employees with 13th-month pay.

Workers who temporarily or permanently lost their jobs due to the declaration of Alert Level 3 may also submit their online application with a clear photo of the applicant holding a valid government-issued ID and the duly notarized proof of employment which includes Certificate of Employment, Notice of Termination, Notarized Affidavit of Termination of Employment, or Notice of Temporary Lay-Off covering the period of Alert Level 3.

Cabili clarified that employees currently under flexible work arrangements are not covered by CAMP 3 as only those who are affected by the temporary or permanent closure of establishments in places under Alert Level 3 are covered.

He said applications will be evaluated by the designated DOLE employees. A notice of approval or denial will be sent to the applicant through electronic mail or SMS.

According to him, the common reasons for denial of applications are wrong or lacking requirements, mismatched identity of applicants with submitted requirements, or unsigned submitted documents.

As of December 31, 2021, a total of 121 establishments in Iligan City and 15 in Lanao del Norte underwent closure affecting 1,204 and 146 workers, respectively.  (APB/PIA Lanao de Norte).
