DTI-Misamis Oriental launched the activities for 2024 Consumer Welfare Month observancd during the Cagayan de Oro LGU’s flag raising ceremony.
As the country marks this year’s 2024 Consumer Welfare Month, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Misamis Oriental has rolled out the various activities for October 2024 to further strengthen the advocacy on consumer protection.
The month-long CWM observance aims to promote the dissemination of sound consumer information on subjects that affect consumers.
This encourages dialogue and cooperation among consumers, businesses and government sectors in strengthening consumer rights awareness and protection.
This year’s theme Be Smart, Assert Your Consumer Rights! was highlighted by DTI MisOr OIC-provincial director Jesusa Abear.
She emphasized that by being smart and assertive about consumer rights, consumers not only ensure that they are not only protecting themselves but also contributing to a more equitable and transparent market environment.
