DILG-10 Camiguin holds conference to ensure citizen satisfaction

CAMIGUIN (PIA)–Adhering to its commitment in empowering citizens by making constituents the center of governance and local administration, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10, in coordination with DILG Camiguin, facilitated the Utilization Conference on the 2021 Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) Implementation in the Municipalities of Catarman and Mahinog.

The conduct of the CSIS Utilization Conference in the two municipalities served as an avenue to present and discuss the results of the Citizen Satisfaction Survey to local government functionaries and various stakeholders.

The said CS results reflect citizens’ feedback on the local governments’ service delivery performance.

As presented by the province’s Learning Research Institute (LRI) partner–Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC), surveys show a high citizen satisfaction in the Municipality of Catarman.

Results imply that the overall satisfaction of the people in LGU Catarman on the different programs and services by the LGU is generally very satisfactory.

LGU Mahinog was also found to generally satisfy its citizens. Findings suggest that citizens’ expectations were generally met by the programs and services adequately.

The CSIS results were drawn from the employed multi-stage probability sampling, wherein a total of 150 respondents were taken from each municipality. Respondents consist of individuals who are 18 years old and above and are residing in LGU Catarman/Mahinog for not less than 6 months.

The Citizen Satisfaction is based on the awareness, availment, satisfaction and perceived importance of specific local government processes on different service areas.

The presented data will serve as a reference for the LGUs and stakeholders in crafting policies and management decisions for their people’s welfare.

The conduct of the 2021 CSIS Utilization Conference in the Municipalities of Catarman and Mahinog also covered the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on CSIS results with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and LGU functionaries, provided coaching on the formulation of the Citizen-driven Priority Action Plan (CPAP).

The activity also highlighted the signing of the Pledge of Commitment by Municipal local chief executives, municipal local government operations officers, civil society organization representatives, and ceremonial turnover of CS Reports. (DILG-10/PIA-10/Camiguin)
