Court orders Jigjag to produce list of workers

THE Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 in Cagayan de Oro City has set a hearing on the preliminary injunction filed by Misamis Oriental Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez and Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Dexter Yasay against the implementation of in-person salaries payout at the provincial government.

With the hearing scheduled this Friday (September 5), RTC Branch 18 presiding Judge Giovanni Alfred Navarro also ordered Pelaez and Yasay to produce the list of workers detailed in their respective offices including names, plantilla item and number, position title, salary grade, status of employment, original appointment and reappointment if applicable.

It can be recalled that the unusually high number of workers assigned to Pelaez’s office was leaked on social media last week.

According to the leak, Pelaez (who goes by the nickname Jigjag) allegedly has 103 employees.

When pressed for comment by another local newspaper, Pelaez merely blurted “it’s scary” about the allusion of ghost employees in his office.

In Philippine English slang, ghost employee means a fictitious person on a payroll.

Meanwhile, Gov. Juliette Uy’s special assistant Celso Abucejo welcomed the order of the court and said this will be the forum to find out the truth.
