Cagayan de Oro City Hall under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s leadership came in full force to welcome the delegation of the Sinag Liga Asya (SLA) that arrived at the Laguindingan Airport.
SLA officials led by their President Rey Alao and Chief Operating Officer Leo Isaac were welcomed by the City Hall delegation led by officials of the City Sports Development Department and the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
Sinag Liga Asya will host their Junior World Showcase for cagers under 21 years old in Cagayan de Oro City. The event is also sponsored by Barangay Carmen headed by their barangay captain Raineir Joaquin ‘Kikang’ Uy.
Established in August 2023, Sinag Liga Asya began by providing exposure to players with little to zero experience that were aged 40 and above through its ‘Lakas Kuwarenta’ and ‘Calibre Kuwarenta Singko’ categories.
The SLA Junior World Showcase is set to run from July 5 to 11, with teams from around the world competing against local grassroots players. A full schedule for the five-day tournament will be released prior to the official opening. (MDS/CIO)
