Cagayan de Oro- The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) in Mindanao will be hosting a National Economic Summit to be set March next year here in the city,said Mindanao interim Vice President and Region 10 Chairman City Councilor George Goking in an interview by local Media Friday morning.
Goking said that his region in the 6 regions of Mindanao will host the summit which talking of concern is about the telecommunication industry in the country which is still very far on its high technology compare to other neighboring countries in Asia specially in the internet connection. Other area of concern is agriculture and Tourism which are very potential in the country that still need attention for upgrading.Goking added that 1,700 Councilors of Northern Mindanao has a clamour to include in the discussion the Mindanao Railway System project specially in the Cagayan de Oro -Iligan Cities corridor.
Late last month, Councilors from Regions 9,10,11,12,Caraga Autonomous Region (CAR) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) converge in Davao City for an Economic Forum and come up for a decision to host a National Economic Summit and Goking said that they will already made an arrangement to Malacanang for President Ferdinand “Bong bong” Marcos Jr. to be their Keynote Speaker and staffs responded positively. Included in the invitation are Senator Imee Marcos,all Senators from Mindanao and all Cabinet Secretaries of the country.In the Mindanao Economic Summit in Davao, Northern Mindanao delegates find time to elect their new set of officers together with other 5 regions and re-elected Goking as Regional Chairman while in the Mindanao election,Goking was elected as their interim Vice President.
