MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) paid homage to its civilian employees during the 124th civil service anniversary in Camp Aguinaldo on Wednesday.
AFP deputy chief of staff for personnel Maj. Gen. Rommel Roldan said civilian personnel play a crucial role in supporting the military organization.
“The dedication and commitment of our civilian workforce are essential to the success of our organization. You are the backbone that ensures the smooth functioning of our operations, and today we celebrate your service and dedication,” Roldan said.
During the ceremony newly appointed and promoted civilian personnel took their oaths while supervisors also renewed their oaths.
Outstanding civilian employees and offices were also awarded for their performance and contribution to the military organization.
Free rides
Meanwhile, government employees get free rides at LRT-2 and MRT-3 on Sept. 18 to 20 to mark the anniversary. Employee identification is required.
The schedule of free rides for LRT-2 is from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the MRT-3 for the entire operating hours. (PNA)
