1,308 families in Magsaysay town get aid from Sen. Go, DSWD-10

MAGSAYSAY, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–A total of 1,308 individuals affected by the flooding caused by the shear line weather disturbance, December 24–25, 2022, in Magsaysay town, received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)–10 and aid from the Office of Senator Bong Go (OSBG), January 2.

Mayor Charlie Buhisan of Magsaysay town said all 25 of the town’s barangays were affected by the weather disturbance. The coastal barangays were hit the hardest.

In response to the needs of the municipality, Senator Bong Go and DSWD-10 Regional Director Ramel Jamen gave out P5,000 in cash from the DSWD-10’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, as well as food packs, face masks, and vitamins from the OSBG.

Despite the tumultuous experience, Senator Go urged the victims not to lose hope and to be thankful that no lives were lost during the incident. He also pledged to do the best he could to help the people of Magsaysay and the people of Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental that fell victim to the flood.

In addition to the municipality of Magsaysay, Go also visited and gave assistance to the flood victims in Balingasag town and Gingoog City. (JAKA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
