ROTARY International District 3870 District Governor-Elect Gilda “Gigi” Go has appointed past assistant governor Evelyn Jumawid as the new chair for the vocational training team serving RY 2023-2024 which will start this June.
Vocational training teams are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about a particular field or to learn more about their own. Teams can be funded by district grants and global grants.
Vocational training teams build on The Rotary Foundation’s long standing commitment to vocational training. Activities vary from one team to the next but may include training medical professionals on cardiac surgery and care, sharing best practices on early childhood training education or explaining new irrigation techniques to farmers.
A successful vocational training team increases the capacity of the host community to solve problems and improve the quality of life.
With this new appointment, Jumawid will join the Rotary International District 3870 leadership team for RY 2023-2024 overseeing 44 clubs in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, Camiguin and Cagayan de Oro City.
Jumawid belongs to the Rotary Club of Metro Valencia.
