Iligan City, Philippines – Iligan City is poised to become a vibrant center for digital creativity and innovation with the official opening of its state-of-the-art Digital Creatives Hub.
Following its inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 22, 2025, led by Iligan City Mayor Frederick W. Siao as a key pocket event of the Northern Mindanao Regional Innovation Program and Exhibit (NorMinRIPE) 2025, the digital creatives facility was formally turned over to the Local Government Unit of Iligan on April 28, 2025.
The Digital Creatives Hub features essential equipment funded under DTI’s Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program.
The initial phase of the project includes Huawei 65’ interactive white boards for AI-enabled conferences, Wacom Cintiq 16HD graphic tablets for graphic design and animation, video-editing PCs for video rendering, GoPro Hero 12 black for action photography, Canon EOSR50 DSLR cameras for professional photography, Apple iPhone 15 Pro for mobile photography, DJI Mavic 3 classic drones for aerial photography.
The establishment of the Digital Creative Hubs in Iligan City is expected to create more jobs and develop a skilled digital creative workforce; generate and diversify growth of local economy to foster the creative industries; attract investments; improve quality of life by creating opportunities for creative expression; and develop communities by establishing a collaborative space for creatives to network, share ideas, and drive innovation.
In his keynote message, DTI-10 Regional Director Ruel Paclipan highlighted the hub’s objectives and its crucial role in empowering digital creative micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within Iligan City and Northern Mindanao.
