DEPARTMENT of Health Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao discussed January 8 in Talakayan sa PIA measles rubella – supplemental immunization and Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis Awareness and Prevention Month.
Dr. Germaine Mariz Labadan shared they are urging parents of six months to 59 months old babies to go to their nearest health centers to have their children vaccinated vs measles rubella.
According to Labadan, there is a rise in the measles cases that is why they are pushing for a supplemental vaccination activity.
Meanwhile, non-communicable diseases cluster head Dr. Tristan Jediah V. Labitad underscored the life-saving importance of childhood vaccinations.
Labitad urged parents in Cagayan de Oro City and the entire Northern Mindanao to stay vigilant in protecting their children against preventable illnesses and give utmost value to vaccinations.
He emphasized that timely immunization remains the most effective defense for the youth of Northern Mindanao.
Early detection, vaccination and healthy practices can save lives, Labitad added.
