Cebu City is advocating for a ramp project that would link to the CCLEx

By John Rey Saavedra

Mayor Michael Rama of Cebu City
is advocating for the construction of a ramp to connect three interior villages to the Cebu-Cordova Link Express (CCLEX), according to Architect Yumi Espina, head of the Cebu City Planning and Development Office. Residents of these villages view the ramp project as essential infrastructure linking their areas to Cordova. Espina noted that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is committed to supporting the project by widening Tres de Abril Street, connecting it to V. Rama Ave at the N. Bacalso Ave junction.

The DPWH-7 is now doing the parcellary survey along the national road affected by the ramp project, he said.

CCLEX developer and operator, CCLEX Corp. (CCLEC), is now holding public consultations in Pasil, Pahina-San Nicolas, and Ermita, the villages where the ramp will traverse and link to the expressway leading to Cordova town.

“The city government is working closely with CCLEC,” Espina said.

The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. revealed that the ramp project will have an increased fund from PHP3 billion to PHP6 billion.

The CCLEX has reduced travel time to Mactan Island by 40 minutes. (PNA)
