Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, through the Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts, celebrates National Arts Month with PANAGHUGPONG 18 – Xavier Arts Festival, carrying the theme Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting.
National Arts Month was established through Presidential Proclamation No. 683, issued during the presidency of Corazon Aquino, declaring February as a month-long celebration of Filipino arts and culture.
Now in its 18th year, PANAGHUGPONG features a wide range of artistic events and productions, including performances by the University’s Performing Arts Companies, visual art exhibit, film, piano and classical guitar concerts, an orchestra concert, literary performances, and various competitions such as the on-the-spot essay writing contest, oratorical contest, and digital art contest.
