Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan will host the Cultural Center of the Philippines Lakbay Cine on October 11-14, 2023 at the Xavier Ateneo Downtown Campus.
Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts partnered with the CCP Film, Broadcast, and New Media Division featuring the best of Cinemalaya Films, intensive workshops and masterclasses by award-winning filmmakers and actors, Cinema Under the Stars – an outdoor film screening, and Cine Icons featuring the works of the National Artist Ricky Lee at the XU Little Theater.
“This is a film education opportunity by making the Cinemalaya films accessible to the Kagay-anons. The film screening program includes talk back sessions for film content analysis, filmmaking processes, and media and society discourse” said Hobart Savior, XCCA Director.
“This also fortifies our culture and arts leadership as well as our network and partnership with the CCP,” he added.
CCP and Cinemalaya guests joining the event to include CCP President Nikki Junia; Film, Broadcast, and New Media Division Chief Culture and Arts Officer Mae Caralde and her team; Film Directors She Andes, Dustin Celestino, and Ryan Machado, and actor Dylan Ray Talon.
Free Film Screenings, Free Film Workshops And Film Talks
All interested fellows can join the workshops even if you are not a filmmaker. All you have to be is a film enthusiast or a filmophile, cinephile, or cinemaphile.
The opening program and film screening of Maria by She Andes will be held on October 11 at the XU Little Theatre, to be followed by the film talks, workshops and regular screenings on October 12-14 at the same venue.
The Cine Icons and Cinema Under the Stars will be held on October 14, 2023 at the Kiosko Kagawasan in Plaza Divisoria from 6:00-9:00PM.

The CCP Lakbay Sine Workshops (Film Talks) will be held on October 12 and 13, 2023 , 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the XU Little Theater. Admission is free!
