MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–The Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) Lanao del Sur Provincial Office conducted a seminar-workshop on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) for key frontliners in the tourism industry in the province.
A total of 45 participants, composed of tourism officers of the local government units in Lanao del Sur as well as representatives of the transportation and security sectors, as well as, owners/managers of accommodation establishments and other tourism-related establishments underwent the training held on Sept. 26-27, 2022 in Go Hotel, Iligan City.
“This is to equip our tourism stakeholders on how to deliver quality tourism services to tourists in accordance with the distinct Filipino brand of service,” said MTIT’s Senior Tourism Operations Officer Prince Shoudery Galo.
He said part of the workshop was the upskilling of the tourism stakeholders on customer service and tourism product development.
“We decided with the Association of Lanao del Sur Tourism Officers or ALTO that we need this training, especially that we have emerging tourism sites like in the province such as the ground zero of Marawi City and other emerging tourism establishments,” he added.
Vienna B. Pico, DOT-accredited FBSE trainer and ASEAN national trainer and assessor, served as the resource speaker during the two-day workshop. In her discussion, she reminded the tourism stakeholders to continue enhancing their skills to become competent and deliver quality tourism services.
She also emphasized their essential role in promoting the campaign branding of the Bangsamoro region dubbed “CHOOSE BANGSAMORO.”
The FBSE is a banner tourism program designed to instill a culture of service excellence among tourism stakeholders and promote such service excellence in all tourism-related establishments. (APB/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
