CIVIL society members in Camiguin have issued a strong appeal to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to ensure clean and peaceful elections this coming May 12, 2025.
“We denounce the proliferation of fake news, the escalation of personal attacks against candidates, and the use of AI-generated videos on social media platforms that amount to character assassination,” the group stated.

They also raised concerns about the influx of overstaying, unidentified individuals in the province since the start of the campaign period in March. Residents fear these individuals may be linked to vote-buying, intimidation, or other election-related irregularities.
The group urged fellow Camiguinons to remain vigilant and to immediately report any harassment or suspicious activities in their barangays to the police or military authorities.

On March 22, 2025, a Unity Walk and Peace Covenant Signing were held in Camiguin as part of efforts to promote peaceful elections. The inter-agency event was led by the COMELEC and attended by officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), AFP, PNP, and other key government agencies. Congressional candidate Paul Rodriguez and his Kaayuhan Team participated in the activity. However, incumbent re-electionists were notably absent.
