PNP LDN records 30,256 violations of health protocols vs COVID-19

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)–The Philippine National Police (PNP) here recorded 30,256 violations of health protocols against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from January to December 2021.

Of this number, 22,648 are violators for not wearing facemasks, 5,011 for not observing social distancing, and 2,597 for breaching curfew hours.

During the Joint Provincial Development Council, Provincial Peace and Order Council, and Provincial Anti Abuse Council meeting, PLtCol. Rodolfo Dongiapon, operation officer of Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office reported that there are eight quarantine control points or border controls established by PNP to prevent the escalation of COVID-19. These are located in the municipalities of Pantar, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Kolambugan, Kapatagan, Tagoloan, Balo-i and Linamon.

He added that the control points are manned by 66 personnel from PNP, 27 from Armed Forces of the Philippines, and three from the Philippine Coast Guard.

To recall, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte released

Provincial Ordinance No. 03-2020 in 2020 imposing the mandatory wearing of face masks and strict observance of social or physical distancing.

As of Jan. 31 this year, the province logged a total of 174 active COVID-19 cases with 30 newly recovered patients. (LELA/ Lanao del Norte)
