Mindanaoan learners get affordable data packages from TNT, Smart

Hundreds of students in Mindanao have received a three-month data subsidy through “TNT Tropang Saya,” a nationwide program that provides learners easier access to learning apps and productivity tools. The program is organized by PLDT’s wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and its leading prepaid brand, TNT.
    
Under the program, learners received free Giga Study 299 that comes with 4GB of open access data and 1GB/day access to online learning tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft 365, YouTube, Canvas, and Learning Management Systems.
    
For 17-year-old Cagayan de Oro student Stephen Ceballos, this initiative has enabled him to enjoy attending his online classes in Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School. “As a student coping with blended learning, having an efficient internet connection and access to affordable load are a must,” he said.  “Not everybody is able to buy a WiFi device, but with these affordable TNT data promos, we can enjoy studying and watching online entertainment. I also share my experience with this program to other students because this will surely help them, too,” he added. 
    
Meanwhile, Althea Aquiza, a student from Caraga Regional High School in Surigao City, said that her student life during the pandemic has been made easier with good internet connection through promos like Giga Study, and a strong network powered by Smart LTE. “Staying online is not a problem anymore, thanks to affordable data load from TNT,” she shared.

We are glad to be able to partner with schools across the country to assist students in their distance learning needs, and empower them with the tools that they need to follow their passions with purpose. We look forward to reaching and helping even more students so that no one gets left behind,” said Melvin Nubla, VP, Head – Go-to-market and Subs Management. 
    
TNT Tropang Saya is in line with Smart’s ‘Live Smarter, Live with Purpose’ campaign that encourages the Filipino youth to discover and pursue their passion and purpose, enabled by digital technology. Digital literacy and education continue to be flagship CSR programs of Smart and its parent firm, PLDT, Inc., reinforcing their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) #4 on Quality Education.
