Toronto, Canada (June 6, 2023) Publishing powerhouse Media Wise Communications/MUSE Books powered to a rare two-gold harvest in the 2023 IABC Gold Quill Awards.
The twin wins, together with the other awards, were announced this April by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
All winners were presented their awards at the IABC World Conference on June 6, 2023 in Toronto, Canada. Media Wise Communications president and CEO Ramoncito Ocampo Cruz, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Dr. Clifton Pe, MD., former UST FMS Regent Dr. Gabriel Pastrana received the awards.
Media Wise Communications’ golden harvest came in the publications category with two coffee-table books.

Sugar & Smiles: The Negrense Legacy Beyond 2020, a collaboration with Impress Philippines and Abanse Negrense, led by Messrs. Conrado Gen Tomas, Jose Kilayko Montalvo III, Benjamin de Leon Torre, J. Albert Araneta Gamboa, and Ms. Ma. Teresa Quebrar-Manalili.
The two books are Media Wise Communications’ fifth and sixth Gold Quills, with previous golds in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Eight other winners in this year’s batch come from the Philippines.
The IABC Gold Quill Awards recognizes and awards excellence in strategic communication, with hundreds of entries from around the world vying for the prestigious international awards every year.
In total, the IABC Gold Quill Awards received 395 entries. Nine countries are represented among the winners, which come from a cross-section of public and private sector organizations, both large and small. http://ow.ly/fRQa50O1kKY
Cruz is a UST alumnus with a degree in fine arts and finished high school in Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan (Xavier Ateneo). He is a visual artist but his strong marketing background led him to establish his own graphic design and publishing company in 1993, Media Wise Communications, Inc., a member of the United Print Media Group.
