Marawi division head says vaxxed teachers deemed proper

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–Teachers attending the upcoming in-person classes on February 14 this year are guaranteed to be vaccinated.

City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Anna Zenaida Unte-Alonto stressed that her administration sees the vaccination status of each educator to be appropriate in the health crisis today.

“I deem it very proper and utmost procedure that all our teachers should be vaccinated. If they are not vaccinated, they will always have to undergo RT-PCR or antigen,” she said.

Alonto shared that the vaccination rate of the schools in the city was one of the qualifications in choosing the top three priority schools for the face-to-face learning modality, and with their assessment came the identified schools – Mapandi Elementary School, Nanapun Elementary School, and Angoyao Central Elementary School.

Accordingly, all teachers in these schools will be included in the preparations until the targeted date.

The superintendent also bared that as of the recent record, her division reached a high level of vaccination rate.

“One thousand two hundred seventy kami and almost 80 lang ang hindi vaccinated [We are one thousand seventy and just almost 80 are unvaccinated]. I am very proud that around 90% above are vaccinated teachers of Marawi,” said Alonto. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
