VERONA Green Residences, the flagship project of IDC Homes, was awarded the prestigious EDGE certification as an environment-efficient building.
This was announced Wednesday (May 24) by Architect Romolo Nati, the chairman and CEO of project developer Italpinas Development Corporation, during the official launch of Verona Green Residences at Pearlmont Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.
EDGE is an innovation of the International Finance Corporation which makes it easy to design and certify resource-efficient and zero carbon buildings of every type, everywhere. The International Finance Corporation is one of the five arms of the renowned institution World Bank.
By bringing those who design, develop, finance and incentivize green buildings, EDGE unlocks collaboration and provides a new paradigm for the future.
EDGE takes into account occupancy, the owner’s income level and unit sizes to create a benchmark model for either landed homes or apartments. A developer’s design team can then select from any range of practical solutions to create homes of outstanding value.
EDGE certification will surely boost the reputation of Verona Green Residences. Smart homebuyers understand that owning a green home means lower utility bells. They also have a sense of fulfillment that comes from making the right choice. For homes in emerging markets, EDGE is a win-win for all.
Verona Green Residences is a flagship project of IDC Homes which was launched last November. It is inspired by the city in Italy (Nati’s home country) which has been the setting of two of Shakespeare’s works, Romeo and Juliet and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
The P1.2 billion project will consist of a series of four-level walk-up green buildings, offering both residential and commercial space. The project will rise on an 11,327 square-meter property in flood-free uptown Cagayan de Oro City near the company’s existing developments Primavera Residences and Primavera City.
