KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA) –Barangay Waterfalls in Kapatagan town will soon have an isolation facility that will accommodate returning residents as part of measures in preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Barangay Waterfalls Bids and Awards Committee Chairperson Romel Simbajon said they decided to implement the project as they faced challenges in accommodating returning residents in their barangay during the onset of the pandemic.
“Isolation facility ang amo nadecide nga buhaton, gumikan ang among barangay hall gamay ra. Nagkaproblema mi tong niaagi, kay wala proper ka stayhan,” he said.
[We chose to have the isolation facility since our barangay hall is just small. We had problems in the past because the returning residents do not have a proper place to stay.]
The facility has three rooms and six beds. When the pandemic ends, the facility will be converted into an evacuation center.
The project will be built through the Additional Financing of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with counterpart from the barangay, provincial and municipal governments.
