MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–Amidst the attainment of positive progress in terms of the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic response here in the province, the Integrated Provincial (IPHO) alongside the provincial government of Lanao del Sur continues to reecho its call to the citizenry to be immunized through taking the COVID-19 vaccines.
IPHO Chief Dr. Alinader Minalang firmly appealed to the public to get themselves vaccinated as no one would know when they would be infected with the deadly virus.
He stressed that it is in this way that they would be able to prevent having severe symptoms when suffering from the disease.
Minalang also called on those who already completed their primary doses to be inoculated with their booster doses to sustain their immunity.
Accordingly, all people aged five years old and above can now receive their jabs.
Minalang emphasized that the people should not be swayed by their fears and misconceptions about the COVID-19 vaccines as these were already recognized to be a great ally in this era of health crisis.
“Hindi sila dapat mabahala dahil proven naman na ang ating mga bakuna ay safe, effective, makakaprevent talaga sa pagkakaroon ng severe symptoms ng COVID kaya nakakasave siya ng buhay, at libre siya. Let us avail of the COVID-19 vaccines, complete our doses and have our booster doses,” he said.
Apart from pleading with the general population, Minalang also urged government officials, non-government organizations, Muslim religious leaders, social media influencers, and media to fully support the Bakunahang Bayan and PinasLakas campaign being the ones who bear a crucial role in the success of all the efforts.
“Pagkakaisa at solidarity kasi nandoon tayo sa ating shared vision na maging safe ang Lanao del Sur at buong bansa,” he said.
