Gov’t brings services, programs closer to an MILF community

MUNAI, Lanao del Norte (PIA)–Various national government agencies of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict-10 (RTF-ELCAC) brought their services and programs closer to the 127th Base Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front community in Bacayawan here on Sept. 13.

“Naa ta dinhi sa hugot nga commitment nga dad-on gyud sa kinalagyoan nga lugar ang atong kalambuan. This is our firm commitment to bring services close to the people,” said Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño, National Economic and Development Authority-10 regional director.

[We are here because we are committed to bring development to the farthest place. This is our firm commitment to bring services close to the people.]

There were free circumcision, massage and haircut, medical check-ups, and vaccination against COVID-19. Residents also received grocery packs, vegetable seeds and seedlings, and school supplies, among others. Farm animals, equipment and tilapia fingerlings were also provided.

Profiling for training scholarships and registration for educational assistance and the Philippine Identification System were also conducted.

The provincial government of Lanao del Norte also provided various support through its Especial Mass-Based Program.

“They have been planning this, the DILG, mayor with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. With the support ng ilang ahensya na pumunta [of various agencies] from the national, I’m definitely sure na malaki ang pagbabago sa ating mga kapatid na [that there will be a big change for] MILF here in Bacayawan,” said Gov. Imelda “Angging” Dela Cruz Quibranza.

Moreover, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander BGen Rey Alemania encouraged the MILF Community to maintain their relationship with the local government units from barangay to municipal and provincial levels in implementing their plans for their community.

The program is supported by the local government of Munai, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Army, Department of Education, Department of Health, and Philippine National Police, among others.
