GINGOOG CITY, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–The Local Government of Gingoog City, the National Housing Authority (NHA)-10, and its partner stakeholders held a groundbreaking ceremony for a medium-rise resettlement housing project in Anacan, Barangay Minsapinit, January 20.
The Minsapinit Housing Project has 125 housing units that will serve as new homes for families who lost their houses due to the shear line this past December 2002, which affected 10,302 families or 48,183 individuals living in Gingoog City.
The project’s main priorities are informal settlers, high-risk households, and families in need of resettlement. Livelihood centers, residential areas, churches, and commercial buildings will also be built on the site to ensure economic and social development in the area.
Gingoog City Mayor Erick Cañosa extended his gratitude to the NHA for the new resettlement project and shared that he is hopeful that the partnership between the LGU and NHA will be strengthened in the coming years. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
