CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Promoting full employment facilitation and equality of employment opportunities for all, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) CDO Field Office, together with the Job Placement Bureau-Public Employment Service Office ( JPB-PESO), held the Basic Employment Service Training (BEST), September 15-16, at Deluxe Hotel, here.
The two-day training was participated in by the punong barangays and officials from the 80 barangays in the city, JBP-PESO Manager Kathleen Kate Dailo-Sorilla said.
In the said event, information and details on the programs and services on employment of DOLE-CDO headed by Emmanuel G. Toledo and JPB-PESO were discussed in the hopes of expanding the reach of the department to its clientele to the barangay level.
“This was also an advanced move for the Barangays on the proposed Labor Reform Code under the Chairmanship of Councilor Joyleen Mercedes ‘Girlie’ Balaba, who is also the chair for the Committee on Labor and Employment, of which part of the said reform code is the creation of the Barangay Employment Assistance Desk (BEAD),” Sorilla said.
DOLE Regional Director Albert E. Gutib and Jordan Apat, who represented Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, graced the said event to support government’s efforts in boosting employment in the city. (RTP/PIA-10)
