DENR gets ‘satisfactory’ ARTA rating

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) obtained a “satisfactory” rating of 89.78 percent in the 2022 Report Card Survey (RCS) 2.0, conducted by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) pursuant to Republic Act 11032, or the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.”

RCS 2.0 is the way to measure the effectiveness of the Citizen’s Charter, which will reduce the regulatory burdens and the impacts on human resource systems and programs to deliver efficient government services.

Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, through Undersecretary for Policy, Planning, and International Affairs Jonas Leones, said the DENR is grateful for the award.

“With a score of 89.78 percent, the DENR is encouraged to work harder to serve the people by acting promptly in all transactions in the office, and to continue to fulfill our duties as public servants,” Leones said.

He added that the department’s high score in the ARTA survey means that the agency is on the right path to achieving its goal of delivering good and efficient service to the public.

Under the RCS 2.0 rating system, agencies with a rating of 95-100 percent are recognized as excellent agencies; 90-94.99 percent, very satisfactory; 85-89.9 percent, satisfactory; 80-84.99 percent, compliant; 75-79.99, needs improvement; and 74.99 percent below, requires a thorough review of the requirements of RA 11032.

A total of 50 offices and agencies that provide government services are included in the survey. This includes 30 national government agencies, 5 government-owned and controlled corporations, 5 local government units, 5 state universities and colleges, and 5 government hospitals.

The government agencies that got a “very satisfactory” rating in the RCS 90-94 percent, and received the silver award are the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Government Service Insurance System, the University of the Philippines-Diliman, and the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC). No agency received the gold award. (DENR-10/PIA-10)
